Why Parry Sound

Parry Sound is a picturesque town nestled along the granite shores of Georgian Bay in the world’s largest freshwater archipelago, a UNESCO Biosphere site, locally known as the 30,000 islands. In recent years Parry Sound has become a hub for film and television productions, granting access to tax credits by way of an incentive called the Northern Ontario tax credits program, provided by the NOHFC. We have been home to eighteen productions including the 2018 Netflix collaboration, Northern Rescue, and our regional municipalities have funds available to invest in film and film production. We are seeking films and filmmakers for collaboration and investment and we wish to invite you to our town as one of our award-winners, a participant, or a film enthusiast. Everyone is welcome! We wish you the greatest luck with your submissions, and look forward to meeting you in June 2020.
